Quarter Sheet Size Guide
Lots of people offer me their horse's rug size when estimating quarter sheet sizes and I always say that, alas, rug sizes aren't very indicative of quarter sheet size because unknown amounts of the length are taken up in the neck, chest and shoulders.
There are various factors which influence your horse's quarter sheet measurement, namely:
- Horse height
- Whether the horse is particularly narrow or wide
- If the horse has an especially long short back or shallow or deep sides
- The saddle cut (forward-cut saddles can add up to three inches or 10cm to your quarter sheet width measurement
For new customers with horses who haven't previously been measured, I will always push to arrange a video call with you to get your horse's exact measurements.
Because your quarter sheet is going to be made to order, I can't take returns if the size is wrong. Due to the customisations I offer, it is rare for a customer to want exactly the same colour and size combination with the same lining and so on at the same time.
Below are some examples of how standard quarter sheet sizes can vary between different horse heights and types.
